AN EXPERIENCE OF NATURE'S AWESOME POWER...BEING WITH THE DIVINE
It was one fine day in the month of August in Ashram and as usual all the disciples got up at 4;30 in the morning for the morning meditation which would, and usually happens under the watchful eyes of our GURU H.H MAA SHREE. I as usual was the last of the disciple to get up. I actually treasure the early morning sleep and I hate to get up so early. I would always be the last one to arrive at the designated meditation ground. MAA was always present at the ground when I would enter and she would look up at me . I knew that she is unhappy with my late arrival and I would sheepishly avoid her tearing apart gaze.
In English there is a proverb which says that morning shows the day .if this was the fact than this proverb would definitely be lying in the trash bin as the events that unfolded that day was completely opposite of what the early morning showed, which we shall see in the narrative.
At around 14;00 hrs in the afternoon patches of dark cloud loomed on the horizon and I gave no thoughts to it. MAA was to leave the Ashram at around 16:00 hrs and accordingly I readied the Car and looked again at the sky. The sky was different now, angry clouds were aggregating fast and occasional lightening with a rumble was becoming more frequent. I was now anticipating some rains on our way to Mumbai.
I left the Ashram with MAA seating behind and I at the wheels. By the time I was negotiating the mountainous terrain the clouds were thick and black and I had to put the head light on for visibility. I looked at the rear view mirror and saw MAA marvel at the proceeding.
Barely I might have driven about twenty kilometers from the Ashram ,the rains started with vengeance. I slowed the speed of the car and negotiating the bends and the cliffs I was now on the highway. I was hoping that the rains will show signs of abatement but my hope and my assumptions were wrong.
The rains increased in its intensity and now the rains were like streams of water hitting the windshield with ever increasing force. I had never seen such torrential ,ferocious and captivating rains till date.
Looked at MAA through the rear view mirror and the sparkle in her eyes were that of a child who was watching the rains for the first time It was obvious that she was enjoying every bit of this scary downpour. I was scared and wanted to strike a conversation with MAA but then I thought that I should not interfere between her and the nature it seemed somehow to me that they both were the same and that they were somehow communicating with each other.
By now the visibility decreased to just about three feet and decided to pull up on the side and I pulled up on the side with my hazard light on.
The eerie silence broke and Maa said that we can now start again and so I started to drive again . The ferocity of the downpour was little less.and as we were now heading towards Mumbai the fury of lightening started, there were streaks of lightening every where, front rear, side everywhere accompanied by the deafening noise. I looked at MAA again and this time she was couched forward and looking out of the window like a child who is watching fireworks on the fourth of july on the banks of river Hudson. there was a sparkle and there was an anticipation of something that she might have been waiting for.. this visual of her was confusing to me because here I was scared and putting up a brave front, driving slowly cautiously negotiating highway traffic and MAA was enjoying every bit of the natures firework show.
Then as I fixed my gaze on the road ahead a lightening ball ,the size of a football came rushing at an unimaginable speed and crashed on the ground just about three feet from the car with a deafening sound ,the sound was that of hell opening it door to us . the brilliance of that ball was that of a thousand sun and I froze on the wheel my hands were shaking I wanted to speak to MAA but I found that I lost my voice in fear and panic. In short I had stopped dead on the middle of the road. the eerie silence broke with MAA'S voice saying that put on the hazard light. Now I turned to her and she smiled at me saying " This is Nature" just a small display of its power and efficacy.... MAA was enjoying every bit of the celestial performance for she knew that I needed to see and feel the raw power of nature....
Thereafter as if on cue from the director the rains and the lightening reduced and stopped as we were nearing Mumbai.
I will never forget that day... and Oh Lord let that lightening strike that demon within me........... So that I can drive MAA SHREE again .........
BUT that's for the guru to decide......
